I experienced the same "magic carpet" ride in an S-Class sedan as well, with stunning handling for such a large car!! (this one also comes with OEM Bilsteins)........but from what I heard later from various people, the aftermarket versions of the Bilstein shocks are totally different to the OEM ones used on the Mercedes-Benzs and BMWs

I've been waiting on the Tein CS kit, but it's on backorder for "3 months" according to my vendor. Then this week I stopped by the Tein booth at SEMA and asked them what's going on. They confirmed the rumor that they are redesigning the CS for the LS430 and switching to a steel body. They are also making some "internal changes" that are supposed to improve the performance of the shock. They didn't say it directly, but I got the impression that they are going to make it quieter in operation. They said it'd be "mid 2006" before the new one is available.
I also looked at the JIC Magic kit for the LS, but I'm afraid that it'd be noisy. It has some good design features, though.

97 Bilstein/L-Sportline Springs (Eibach made, with a little more drop).
Bilstein = Good quality shocks, a little stiff, two perch settings
L-Sportline Springs = Good quality and no sag or settling (yet) with 2000 miles on them.
