Addco sway bar issues
See the beginnings of this anti-roll bar.

Today I took the car over to TM Engineering to have Todd install it. Well, right off he noticed some issues. Obvious was the size of the bar. Secondly was the lack of bends and anchoring point for the bushings.

WHile the bar will install, the lack of a bend where the bushing attaches will not prevent the bar from moving and possibly hitting other suspension parts and possibly the wheel.
The angle where the bend would attach to the bar is about 2" off so the bar can possibly travel that much which puts it right into the wheel and or brake caliper.

Additionally we discussed the size of the Daizen bars on the GS JZS170 and compared to the LS400 Addco bar. This bar in his opinion may be too much and it may result is easily induced oversteer characteristics.
Due to the lack of a bushing retainer, the bar needs collars to be welded on to install properly. Otherwise, it is likely to shift and cause problems which I first mentioned.
For the time being I have elected to not install this bar until I can get some info from Addco and arrange a testing session with Todd on how this bar will perform. (Big open parking lot.) This may occur possibly in 1-2 weeks.

Mike from your first post I could see that the bar was different from stock and I thought to myself that it does not look like it would fit, but I did not want to sound like a smart a$$................Mike another thing I thought of was that with a bar that beefy it may end up breaking the stock end links.............Good Luck and I would like to here of the out come.

This was a dissappointment as I had expected some level of compatibility. With the addition of some bushing collars, it will index correctly. Good observation on the end links...it too had occured to me while under the car today. Todd pulled out several bars to compare with and none were solid bars like this. With a bar this rigid, it will likely create some handling issues.
I'll keep everyone updated as it progresses.

If you search for my thread you'll find that I recently bought an Addco rear sway bar and installed it myself. ** YES, ACCORDING TO ADDCO IT IS MODEL SPECIFIC FOR OUR LS MODEL ** The bar has different bends from OEM - they state this was purposeful to further improve the performance. I was bummed a bit because I had to drill the bar and one bracket to make it fit.
Bottom line the bar is in and I have driven it for many miles testing it. So far no issues with end links breaking, suspension issues, etc. The difference in handling is immediately noticeable - it is night and day as stated in my thread I posted.
Good luck bro.
