Default 1st gen. LS400 Exhaust

I was wondering if anyone knew how to take off the original exhaust tips on a 1990-1994 Lexus LS400. I just bought some nice new black chrome exhaust tips to match my black pearl emblems, but I don't know how to take off the stock exhaust tips. Does anyone know how? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks Again

I think the tips are meant to be welded, but do you think I can drill 2 holes and screw the tip on with just stainless steel screws? DO you think it will hold? How much is welding usually? Please let me know. Thank you in advance.

I don't think screwing it on is going to hold. You're better off welding the tips on. That is a particullarly easy job to do. You shouldn't pay more than $100 bucks for it. Make sure they weld it straight though, cus crooked tips will look nasty. Post some pics when finished

Alright, I found a place that will weld completely for $50 for my dual tips. I will do it in a day or so. Keep watch for the pics. I'm anxious to see what you guys will think. Thanks for the help everyone.

there are four 10mm nuts(total) that hold both rear pipes and resonators to the other pipes[these are the flanges--take these off to check the tip closer if you need to.

on the orig tips, you have to rotate about 5 degrees so as to clear the spring connectors on the tips from the welded sholders on the pipes then pull off.

on new ones; install with pipes on car so as to be straight, tack if you want to, then remove for final stuff.
