Default trac light on

My trac light is on in my 1990 LS 400. Checked codes and got a 19. It says to check for leaks in actuator and tubing of the system and also says a possible loss of pressure in the accumulator. I didn't find any leaks ( I guess I'm looking for a fluid leak and not a gas leak on the actuator and tubing/hose). I'm not sure about the acccumulator, can it be checked? I didn't seeanything about it in the Lexus shop manual. Is it gas charged? I would appreciate hearing from anyone that knows anything about this. Thanks, GeorgeP

Hello,

I have the same problem in a 92 LS. My dealer bleeded the system and since it is a lot better, but from time to time the light turns on again. So I would also like a solution besides changing the TRC Pump (2400€).

Check the hose from the top of accumulator down to the side. it is a two metal end with rubber hose in the middle. the rubber hose is weaken and have bubble up. This is exactly like the brake hose set up so it will be easy to see. It located in front of the brake master cylinder. Buy a replacement from dealer ~$56 four (4) O rings included.

Thanks Nick-T for this information.

Hello VQT or anyone who knowes,

which hose do you mean? Could someone please post a picturte? The light always turns on after the car stands for a few days. The more you drive the car it gets better and better but its never gone. My dealer already bleeded the system twice!

Chris,

You need to bleed the brake system yourself. Its easy and don't have to pay the dealer to do it which I don't think they did a thoughout job.

If you need to I'll type up the procedure when I have sometime and have the shop manual with me.

Hello VQT,

thanks for the reply. Yes explain me the procedure please. Should I also change the hose?
BTW the dealer did not charge me anything for bleeding the system and the master mechanic is very helpful, he always takes care of the car by himself. We bought the car at this dealer when it was new and had it there for every service.
