Default Help

My 91 LS came with a cover over the engine. It was (PAST TENSE) black with the lex emblem embossed.
Unfortunately, mine was hijacked in a car wash. I would like to get another one but the dealer says that he can't find that part. I didnt get to take a pic of it before it came up MIA, so I cant show it to him. If any of you stellar Lexus owners know of a place or a direction to point me in to find one , I would greatly appreciate it.
It covers the entire middle section of the engine. Thanks.

Are you sure the car came with it? My car is also a 91 and does not have this cover. My friend has a 94 LS400 anniversary edition and his does not have it either. Maybe it was put on by the previous owner. The cover on the engines started in 95, I know this because another friend of mine has a 95 LS400 and his has a cover on it. Try searching for a newer car's engine cover, maybe you will find one that's like yours in a later model LS. Also try this site, www.newlexusparts.com

Covers only appeared in 95. Yours is not supposed to have one.

Like the others have said, the full black housing plastic cover over the engine came out in 95. If your missing a part it has to be one of the smaller black housing pieces in the second photo Buttons posted.

Thanks for the quick replies and pics, guys. Unfortunately, none of those covers look like the one that was on my engine. It is totally possible that the previous owner had it put on, as suggested by leosls400. The cover was pretty large, larger than the ones in buttons pics. It was black plastic like SharpLS-96 wrote and covered a pretty big portion of the engine. Maybe the p.o. used the cover from a 95+ LS. I dont know what their cover looks like, but I'll talk to the dealer about that possibility.

The full black plastic engine bay housing cover for the 95+ is in photo 1 that buttons posted. That cover will not fit on a previous year unless the cover itself was cut/modified to fit.
Photo 2 was for the years 90-94

He might have had an aftermarket cover that is very rare (no one I know or myself has ever seen one) and maybe that's the reason it was stolen.
