Is300 License Plate Light Removal
I have looked for a thread about the removal & replacement of the license plate lights on the IS300 but they all do not have any steps or intructions on how to......need some help on this one.

It's a pretty simple task if you have a few set of tools like a ratchet and sockets. there is a great step by step on my.is on this.
in a nutshell, you open your trunk, pull off the black tab fasteners of the lining of your trunk lid. pop off the safety trunk release unit. unbolt the several nuts holding the license plate light garnish, pop off the garnish, twist off the bulb/lens assembly, pry the bulb lens covers and you you can pop out the 168/194 wedge bulbs. Here is that link that shows you how to do this step by step. It's not necessary to unbolt the trunk lid handle from the inside, post# 49 by JoeZ explains why in this thread:

I can't believe all that has to been done to remove those little bulbs....wow same thing with the headlight's.....what are these people thinking at Toyota when they build these thing's!!!!!

Yeah it's alot of work but it's smart in a way for service dept profitiablity. The average joe will take it to the dealership to have it replaced. Labor hours and etc can get up there especially at $80 to $90/hr.
