New owner, auxiliary question on IS350
Hey guys,
I just picked up an 06 IS350 today. I know when the car is stock, it's supposed to have an auxiliary input under the arm rest right? It looks like the previous owner replaced it with an iPod connection instead. There's no 3.5mm input, just a iPod cord that comes out from the hole. I don't own any apple products so I'd like to go back to the stock setup. What's the best way to do this?
Edit: did some Googling, noticed they have a female ipod dock connection to 3.5mm, I'm guessing this is the easiest way?
Edit2: tried the adapter, but it won't switch over to aux mode when press the CD button. I'm guessing the cable is loose?

So ... to verify ... you have an iPod cord in where the AUX port should be as illustrated on page 198 of the attached section of the 06 IS350 owners manual: http://drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/do.../sec_03_02.pdf
It's hard to say what you have since the dealer installed iPod connection is normally installed in the glove compartment. You may have to do some disassembly of the center console and pull the radio head unit to see what you have.-- usually pretty easy on just about any vehicle made by Toyota. Diagrams on the Sewell site may be useful: http://is.sewellparts.com/parts-catalog/IS350-2006.html The only tools usually needed are regular and Phillips screwdrivers, plastic interior trim removal tools and a 10mm socket wretch with a 6" or so extension.
Who knows - maybe you will find the regular aux-in laying under the console box.

Yep that's correct, I did as much troubleshooting as I could, nothing worked, so I'll be taking it to a friends car audio shop to have a look at it since he owns the same car and will be very familiar with it.
