Problems Installing Sirius / iSimple into '05 330
OK I posted this over in the ES330 sub but kinda crickets so maybe this sub is more appropriate. I also tried searching but didn't see anything obvious.
Car is a 2005 Lexus ES330 with the Navigation System and the factory cd changer.
Got the iSimple Gateway (for iPod connectivity) and the SCC-1 Sirius Kit
iSimple info: http://www.isimplesolutions.com/ipho...n-GateWay.aspx
Question 1: The iSimple apparently plugs into the AUX input in the back of the head unit. When I got the head unit out I discovered that the CD-Changer is apparently already using that port. Is there a splitter cable, or is this a "one or the other" type choice? Ie you can't have both the satellite and the CD changer? From reading around it seems like other folks have hooked up both so I'm wondering if I'm missing a splitter?
The next questions would be for somebody familiar with the iSimple ---
Question 2: Got the iSimple connected by disconnecting the CD-Changer. The Ipod control seems to work OK, but I do not see how to enable the Satellite. The manual states that when you hit the AM-SAT button you should then be able to immediately TUNE UP through various options (ipod, aux, or satellite). On my unit I'm able to scroll through 3 options labeled as "Aux 1" , "Aux 2" and "Aux 3". 2 of these manage the iPod.. one in 'Aux' mode and one in head unit control mode. OK go that. The 3rd one doesn't do anything at all.
Also the minute you hit Sat it immediately goes to Sat3 and that's it. It completely skips Sat1 and Sat2. Not sure if that's normal or not.
So just wondering what ive done incorrectly or perhaps i'm somehow hooking this up wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
