After market iPod adapter
I had a aftermarket iPod adapter installed in my RX 400h. It registers as CD2 when attached through the main connector and CD3 when connected through the headphone jack. I let my daughter use my car while I was on vacation and she apparently ran the car battery down and had it jump started. Since I got it back the adapter and the CD player do not work. It looks
like the CD is spinning inside the changer but there is no sound and the display on the radio indicates it is still on FM radio. The factory radio has the AM/SAT button but no satellite radio is installed. I think it is the isimple adapter, though i am not 100% certain. The initial installation was defective so he had to replace the first one he installed with another one.
Anyway, any thoughts about how this could be fixed or do I need to take it to the dealer? Thanks.

Not sure what kind of aftermarket unit you have, but it may need to be re-programmed for your vehicle again. I know the VAIStech units need this when first installing.. but they keep their memory of vehicle/aux type even if unplugged. Not sure if this is what is happening, but it's a thought.

I took the car in to get the battery replaced and when they wired the new battery the CD player and iPod adapter worked fine. So now it is fixed - apparently all it needs is to be disconnected from the power so it can re-boot.
Thanks for the comments.
