Replacing sub in 04 LS430 - few questions
OK, I have searched the threads and couldn't exactly find the answers so have a few questions. Have a blown sub in my 04 LS430. Want to replace with aftermarket "open air" sub leaving the rest of the system stock for the time being. Looking at the JL line but still open in the $100 to $250 range.
Question 1: What Ohm speakers should I get if I was looking at the 4 or 8 Ohm speakers? I have read the multiple threads on the 16 Ohm ML orignal speakers but most people are using either 4 or 8 and as they available what would you recomend and are there reasons?
Question 2: Depth of speakers? I haven't pulled the back deck yet but concerned about what I order ahead of time. Some of the JL are 4 1/2" deep and others are more. Does anyone know how much room I have there or approx depth of the ML subs 8" subs?
Question 3: Watts? Researching the JL line I see the current line going from 150 watts(W1v2-8 ohm) to 250 watts(W3v3-8 ohm) and then up to the 500 watts (W7-3 ohm --- this one is 8" deep and very expensive so not a likely choice).
