Make sure you're putting the CDs in the changer upside down. In my first Lexus, I was getting the same error and couldn't figure out why so I tried flipping the CDs over and they worked 
. I've yet to have a CD-R that hasn't worked in the player in either of my 2 Lexus' (Lexii?).

. but im going to check the fuses today....Whenever my dad brings my car back from driving it to work, ugh

But they both do they job. You could always use this time to get a new HU. It's not needed but it gives you an excuse to do so. Maybe one that will play mp3's and eliminates you having to go to the trunk to change on a cd or 2.

THANKS EVERYONE FOR UR COMMENTS/HELP. Here's a lil update...i checked ALL fuses, and NONE of them are blown. so im thinking it HAS to be a switch problem. anywho, im changing out the HU pretttty soon...and as for the climate control...

None of them look close to stock so just chose one that has the features you want, IE sub control, Ipod, Sat Radio, HD radio, Navigation ect.
