98 GS400 ipod integration...
So ive done all the searching, and all the research that i can handle... and ive come up with only a handful of answers.
I have a 98 GS400 with factory nav. I want to integrate my iPod. There is the tape adapter (poor quality), and fm transmitters (also poor quality). So after all my research, ive found that when taking the signal out of the iPod through the headphone jack, you get a worse sound because its already amplified (poorly).
Here is my idea, let me know if any of you have done it. Get a wired fm transmitter, that connected in line with your factory antenna. Get a universal iPod adapter, PAC makes one that connects to the docking port, connects to 12v power and gound for charging, and has RCA outputs.
You hook the RCA outputs into the fm transmitter.. and hopefully get a decent sound. Any ideas?
