Export of US lexus to Europe - Radio only able to play stations with "uneven" FM no's
The radio in my Lexus RX400h can only play radio stations in Europe that end in uneven numbers, for example FM 101.5 but not FM 101.4.
Is there a change I can make to my radio in order to make it play also channels with even FM numbers?
Best regards,
Torben

Band expanders will not work on US radios!
The European FM is 88-108Mhz in 0.05Mhz steps. So it goes 88.0-88.05-88.10-88.15-88.20 etc etc.
US radio goes through the FM range in 0.2Mhz steps 88.1-88.3-88.5-88.7 etc, so it is impossible to tune in 88.6 Mhz.
Band expanders are used on imported Japanese-only FM radio's that start off at 76Mhz. Band expanders 'subtract' 12/13/14 Mhz (depends on manufacturer) from the original transmission, so if your local FM radio transmit's at 100MHz, the band expander will convert this to 86Mhz (if its a -14Mhz) so the jap radio can tune it in.
So unless there is a fancy service mode on the RX radio (Which I really doubt) that will change from 0.2Mhz to 0.05 Mhz steps, you will have to buy a replacement radio.
