Need more bass in my GS300
What up I just purchased a 2nd generation GS300 and I wanna add some bass or get better bass.
I was thinking of getting a powered sub but, I heard for about the same price you can get a good enclosed 10" or 12" and an amp that'll sound better than any powered sub. Any recs?

If you do chose to use the sub as a freeair sub, it will be much more efficient (as opposed to sealed). Also the IDmax is pretty efficient already, you can get away with 500 watts.

ID max might be a bit heavy for your back deck without modification. It is like 30+ pounds. Imagine what might happen in a high speed accident or just the sheer weight difference of it compared to the stock one that weighs like 5.
Anywyas 300 is not alot of money for this type of upgrade. IF you wanna do this, you will have to pretty much go free air on your budget. As somone else said, I would camp ebay/forums for a used IDQ subwoofer. Then camp ebay/forums for a used amplifier (matching whatever ohm IDQ you get). Somthing small will do the trick, like 300 RMS (Quality). Then dont skimp on the installation materials. Free Air subwoofers need much less power to push them than it states on the box (usually meant for englosed). In fact, its like MUCH less in some cases, too much power and you will blow ur subwoofer by pusing it past its limit.
if you properly mount it and seal it so its like no air holes on the top deck, the subwoofer should sound really really nice and smooth. You wont be like getting earthquake action, but itd be a nice upgrade over stock.

I would go with 2 10s sealed. A single box can flop around in the trunk and i like the look of 2 subs .
If you don't want to spend alot you could get a qlogic box, profile mono amp, and alpine sub. Not bad for the price.
Ebay for the amp, ccity or bestby for the sub and box. You can get the older model stuff cheaper on ebay. Probably around 350-400.
Nothing like what these guys have but will give you the bump you want.
