After my local dealer quoted over $500 to update my sat nav disk I lost interest. Where can I get one for my 2002 LX 470 and what is the best price?.....Is the upgrade something that I can do myself?.....How often do they change the maps enough to make the upgrade worthwhile?
Thanks

I bought my updated DVD disk for my 2003 GS430 Nav at Seawell Lexus (http://www.lexus-parts.com), for $288.00. If you can put a CD into your PC CDROM drive, then you can install the update. I don't know exactly where the DVD/Nav is on your vehicle, but on mine, all I had to do is push a button to eject the currently loaded DVD, remove it, then insert the new one...As simple as that.
If you find out the location of the nav DVD player please post the location (or maybe somebody else knows?). A co-worker with a LX470 is also interested in upgrading. I'm guessing the player is under the front passenger seat.
I ordered my DVD from lexus-parts.com as well (for '03 IS). Once you locate the player, it's really easy.
