Your lease will be fine, don't inform LFS. When your lease is over they check for paint coats, so make sure the body shop knows it's a lease.
I'm on my second lexus lease and i've been in numerous accidents and my lease returns have been fine.

Progressive told me to call the police too and guess what? When I called LAPD they refused to come out because the situation did not warrant a police report they said.
According to their dispatcher in order for them to file a report, the accident must be hit and run, involve an injury, and/or the individual that caused the accident does not have a drivers license present. None of these criteria were met so dispatch would not call in the report. I have all the information I need though so I think everything will be fine. We shall see...

Just an update but the individual that hit me has chosen to pay cash for the repairs since they did not want this going on their insurance record. I received the funds for the damage quote I received as well as a rental case and have moved forward with starting the repair process.
I'm going with Valley Collision in Van Nuys since they were recommended by Progressive and they received 5 stars on yelp. They've been in business for 40 years and from what I can tell they are a reputable shop.
When the job is finished I'll let you guys know how everything went, final cost, and a thumbs up or down on the shop in case anyone in the LA area needs a peer review of a body shop.

Just to touch base on why the LAPD didn't come out to do a police report... a similar type of accident happened to a co-worker of mine and it also happened at our work. The police wouldn't come out to do a report because it occurred on private property. Those incidents are out of their jurisdiction. My co-worker had to rely on the building management "security" team to take care of the details in regards to reports etc. I live and work in Atlanta, GA.
