Trading in my Z06 for an IS350. Am I nuts?

If you're after a thrill factor, you'll be bored compared to your Vette. However, if you're looking for a daily driver that can put a smile on your face when asked, then the IS350 is a great choice. The color is a personal choice. They are all nice and you really can't go wrong. FWIW, it seems like your final price is a bit high. I was in that range as well, but walked away. At the end of the month, the dealer came back with some "end of month special deals" and I wound up with this:
MSRP: $49,130
Sale price: $45,749
They didn't have my color combo on the lot and the one they used for pricing fell through. They were able to locate another and it couple more options and a higher MSRP of $49,6XX, but they kept my deal the same.
So I think your dealer should have some wiggle room.

New to the forum. Plan on trading in my 08 z06 for an IS350 F-Sport. People think I am crazy but I have been daily driving my 03 e500 and to be honest I don't really have time to fix cars anymore. Having a new warranty would be nice at this stage in my life.
I also don't drive the Vette more than 2k miles or so a year and have a R6 for the summer months. I have had many BMWs but this will be my first Lexus. I drove one last weekend and the dealer has three combos I am interested in. Which one do you guys prefer?
2015 Ultra White/Red F-Sport
2015 Nebula Grey/Red F-Sport
2015 Atomic Silver/Red F-Sport
I cant make up my mind. These are all AWD. I live in the Midwest and even though I am giving up the 8 speed trans this is a huge plus with snow. I am aiming for 47.5k on the car (msrp is 49.4k) and in the 40k ball park for trade.
Note: Considered the S4/S5 CPO but I feel these cars are looking a tad dated even with the facelift in 2013. F10 5series CPO was also considered but again new models around the corner.

DO IT! Dump the 'vette and dump the E-Class now that it's out of warrantee. MB repairs cost a fortune (stupid sensors are always going) and most cannot be performed by anyone but the dealer. You are making a very smart buy!
I started out with Japanese cars and during the next couple of decades I was fortunate enough to own both German and Italian Supercars. I dumped those fragile and ridiculously expensive-to-maintain rides for an IS 350 (non-F Sport) and couldn't be happier.

The pursuit of F
It sounds like you've made your decision from your first post regarding eliminating the Vette. I was in the same predicament with my past MR2 years back which was my baby, yet I was able to move on with no regrets on TO A CIVIC because I knew that I could re-buy one in the future (like you stated). So you going to an IS is not too shabby!
As for color, I had a tough time last year but what was my ultimate determining factor was uniqueness. You seem to be made of the same cloth based on the cars you own and as such, look around you and pick the color that is the LEAST common.
Good luck and welcome to CL!

Atomic Silver over red is my vote! At this point it is less common than the other 2 colors, all I see here are white and black ones. The atomic silver is pretty easy to care for and looks different depending on the light which makes it stand out.
