Siri Eyes Free Mode
Hello All,
I just saw an article on Lexus's newsroom site about changes/additions to 2015 IS lineup. I also noticed that the 2015 line will include the Siri integration into the system. Will this update be available for current 2014 IS, can anyone confirm?

I doubt it will be an update to the 2014s. It was not offered as an update to the 2013 RX when it was added to the 2014s, and the same can be said for the GS.

That sucks. They should update the software. The 2014's should be able to get that. I'm assuming it would only be a software update, I don't see them actually changing the hardware (correct me if I'm wrong), since its only a one year old car.

From what I have read previously, it was not about the software update to the car, but rather with licensing agreements with Apple that have prevented it from being upgradable to previous model years.

Just got my 2015 is250 and this is supposed to be a new feature. So what does this actually allow you to do? Can't find anything online about it...google search fail?

If you have a 6S, you can switch on the "Hey Siri" feature while your phone is paired to the car, and you'll have a similar system as Siri Eyes Free. Have your phone somewhere close (on the door), say the phrase, wait for it to register as it will go through the car as a phone call, say your command, and hit end call button on steering wheel when you're done. Without the 6S, you can just use the hold the home button on the iPhone to activate Siri.
