Those with Pre Collision System be careful...

That has been one of the concerns with automakers for a long time when concerning Pre Collision Systems, the car cannot take into account for certian highway variables like tailgating and lane merging when you have to get close to a car. This is why most car companies don't come with it standard and customers have to read extensive documentation and sign an agreement that they understand it when buying a car that is packaged with PCS. I'm not sure if you had to do that but when my GF got her prius with PCS, the dealership gave her a book she had to read from the NHTSA before she accept the car.
The only company I think PCS is standard on all cars is volvo. But idk many people who still drive volvos

I believe it's actually under/below the steering wheel. Look down near your shins... (Convenient, eh?)

Yup same thing happened to me. And sometimes you just forget about it when you drive everyday and its pretty much on everyday but will definitely not make the same mistake again.

PCS is a completely different system from BSM. BSM only controls the indicators in your mirrors that alert you to a vehicle in your blind spot, and the rear cross traffic alert function, which warns you of rear cross traffic while you are in reverse.
PCS is a system that can activate the brakes if it believes you are headed for a frontal collision.
Two separate functions. Two separate switches.
