Default 2014 IS 250 or IS350? Please help!

I went down to dealership and test drove IS250 sports package. Dealer told me 350 and 250, everything is same except HP! I like 250 and with student discount and small company discount(total$1500), dealer gave me quote of $41000 everything included with 1.9% 5 year payment plan. Please is this a good deal to you guys? I have never bought brand new car and it's 2014 model. Why shouldn't I pay $5k more and get 350? My budget was $40K for the new car. Any feed back is much appreciated. Thanks.

The car I looked at was..IS250 with sports package, back camera, and navigation system. Red interior and black outside.

A few things that the 2014 IS 350 F Sport has a few things that the 250 F Sport doesn't. The most noticeable difference is the extra 100 hp in the 350. One of the other differences is the 350 comes with an 8 speed transmission as opposed to the 6 speed that comes in the 250. The 350 F sport also exclusively has the sport s+ mode which electronically stiffens the suspension. In my opinion, the extra 5k for the 350 is definitely worth it. Test drive it and I think you'll agree.

As mojo stated, the differences are sport +, 8 speed tranny and power. Styling, appearance and features are all the same so if you are ok with slightly less performance, (IS250 is plenty for me) you'll be fine with the IS250.

From experience, being on the CL community for nearly 6 years. There has been so many IS250 owners that regret getting the 250 vs the 350.

I just got a 14 250 but for my wife. If it was for me, then I would have deffinately went with the 350 just for the extra power. My wife and I don't like the red interior and wouldn't wait for special order with black, so I passed on the F sport.

If you've searched this forum, you'll find that many of the IS 350 F Sport owners (including me) wish for more HP/TQ. The suspension is good enough to handle it. The IS 250 is a polished and capable car, but I'd think twice about sacrificing 100HP, particularly if you plan on keeping the car for a while. Also, the eight speed transmission is a gem, second only to a double clutch DSG.
