I'd still take the IS over the RC in a heartbeat
Good thing I'm not a 2-door/coupe fan ... otherwise I would have wished I had waited for the new RC vice the 2014 IS

Can't wait for the Detroit show. I'd go!

Agreed; utility and it's easier to open and close the door, especially in tight parking spaces.
That new center console, however...
Not fair ours is the way it is; it's like they didn't test practicality!?

Being single, no kids, i would have no trouble with a coupe. Starting to even prefer it. The only thing I am seeing as a potential problem is that touch pad. SO many people saying it would be better than the mouse we have, but while in motion just how accurate can you be with a fingertip guided touch pad?
When this thing does hit the lots I'll be checking it out. See how much my lease would change. Of course being a coupe alone will bump my insurance up, but not worried about it, as starting in may my salary is going up another $12k a year.
Also what is Lexus' deal with no manual transmissions. If any car in their line up screams manual, it's the RC. For the longest time I wouldn't even consider a car that didn't come with a manual (ISF and Caddy CTS-V for example). I gave the IS a break with it's paddle shifting, but I still almost turned it down simply cause of the no manual option. Guess I could go get a Challenger SRT or Camero SS, but I'm not into muscle.

The new position does, however, fix the silly location of our cup holders. Guess we can't have it all!
I would have to try out the touch pad to see if I like it or not, but have no complaints about the RTI we have, as it's the same as in my RX, and I like the commonality.

Least we forget how important and impressive the SC line was to Lexus early on. Actually all the way up until the SC430 was retired. They need to bring back another coupe. Another convertible would be nice as well!

In my opinion, the original SC300/400 was, and always will be, a true class act.

I would have to try it out, but I actually prefer our center console. They swapped places of the remote touch interface and the drive mode selector on the RC. I find the placement of our RTI to be in a more natural position to rest my hand, whereas the drive mode selector is too close. The new position does, however, fix the silly location of our cup holders.
