2is faster than 3is?
does anybody know if the 2is is faster than the 3is?
i know the 3is is a bit heavier… does the 3is 8 speed tranny make it slower compared to the 6 speed?

No. They are equally fast, despite the 3IS is some 200 lb heavier.

The pursuit of F
For the 250 from my personal experience having owned the 2IS, the 3IS is a touch faster than the 2IS.
As for the 350, 3IS has the same numbers as the 2IS from what I've seen in the reviews, i.e. 0-60 = 5.5 s

I don't know about the IS250 since I only owned a 2IS 250 but having owned both 2IS and 3IS 350s both F-sports, I can tell you from real life experience that the 2IS 350 is a bit faster than the 3IS. There is plenty of people in the mid and low 13s with the 2IS whereas with the 3IS they seem to have trouble breaking into the high 13s on a 1/4 mile (I'd have to go to the track and test this myself) and from my experience of going full throttle on both cars, the 2IS had a bit more kick and pushed you back in your seat than the 3IS. The trick, I think, with the 3IS is actually driving it on manual and you controlling the shifts, then you can say it is pretty much almost, ALMOST as fast as the 2IS.... this is in real life experience not from some magazine or internet review etc etc.... also, on the 3IS, as my brother figured out on his car, once you push the gas all the way there is still a small "click" or extra push you need to give it and it actually really goes then, don't know exactly what this is but it's there and it gives it an extra kick on the acceleration
