Same on MY08 ISF...

Shut down car to OFF.. Before opening doors... NO DINGS.!!!

Unless you have a Hood, Trunk or Sunroof left open..

or

You touch the light stalk settings after car has been turned OFF...

No you don't have to wait for it to engage, it is instantaneous. I literally open my door .1 seconds after shutting the car off. If a door is open before you shut the car off it will ding because the wheel lock did not engage. This only happens to me 1 out of 20 times I get out of the car because I usually shut the car off before opening my door.

Wow; so this is it!? If I open my door before shutting down the car (one press of the start-stop button) it will ding? Still don't see why it should at all, but very interesting and surely hope the case. Will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks!
