Interesting. It is a known problem with the 4GS also. At least one member here had to remove the protection film after they heard a whistling sound above certain speeds.

Ah yes, good catch since my car makes no whistling sound whatsoever at any speed. It's quiet! And that's before and after I added the vinyl wrap.

I got the car back today and yes the noise is gone. The invisishield is the clear plastic item that is place on top of the paint to help prevent rock chips. It is basically a clear sticker. Yes it turns out not to be the car itself. I don't know if I would call it an after market product. It was sold by Lexus, designed specifically for this car.

I am happy with getting the issue resolved. Lexus customer service was good although very careful not to admit any fault. They did give me a credit for a portion of the payment for the invisishield. Overall I am pleased with the outcome.

if dealer applied it, then it is aftermarket item sold by the dealer... if it is not done at the factory, then it is aftermarket.
