Intake mod successfully installed sounds great

Can somebody post about power gains and how the car feels after installing the intake? I am not interested on sound, just the performance. I am looking to get back some of that sweet power "kick" my old 2011 IS350 had. I have now a 2014 IS350 F with the 8-speed transmission but it lacks that extra power the 2nd gen IS had...

Intakes will only net you 3-5hp on these cars. You're only buying for sound

The 2IS 350 and 3IS 350 share the same 3.5L DI V6 306hp and 277lbft. The 3IS 350 did actually gain 66lbs over the 2IS, but the reason your car feels slower is the gearing. The 6-Auto in the 2IS was very aggressively geared.

The only way I have found I can get more acceleration is going into Manual and force the transmission to stay on the same gear while accelerating to almost red line which is kinda ridiculous considering how easy was to obtain so much acceleration at lower RPM on the 6-speed transmission.
Anybody with a 2IS willing to swap transmissions with me?

Thanks, I know what you are saying, the 8-speed transmission is very good, it actually saves you a lot of gas even when you drive more "aggressive" than normal but as long you keep it on Normal Mode or ECO Mode. On Sport Mode (and Sport+) it feels a little bit more like the 6-speed transmission (at some extra gas expense as it keeps lower gears at higher RPM), but still misses some "kicking" when you step on it.

No problem. Its just a sad truth that bolt-ons don't do much for our cars without tuning abilities. The 8-Speed is great just not off the line. The spacing of the gears is great for staying in the powerband headed up into higher speeds, but launching against a 2IS 350 won't yeild the best results. The 2IS 350 in fact is so aggressively geared it will beat an IS-F to roughly 30mph before the F's massive torque and VVT-I kick in
On the other hand, I gotta say, shifting manually on the 3IS 8-speed can give you some good kick if you know how to stay on the high torque power band... and don't look at the ECO screen cause you will spend lots of gas...
