It's too bad the base engine of the IS 250 is anemic on power compared to the rest which is why it lost, though it wasn't a fair comparison as the ATS and 328i cost thousands more. The similarly priced IS 350 would have (has) beaten them both, as per Car and Driver's June comparo and that was against the top-of-the-line 335i.

Wow the IS 2 seconds slower than the BMW. That's huge.

Still like the styling of te IS more but the BMW probably is more or a drivers car which what I love about them.

Haha ya, too slow...although rumours has it Lexus will be going forced induction later in 2015+? We'll see. Everyone boosting now, not fun. Although putting IS350 against the 328 wouldn't be fair too, as long as it beat the 335 that's all that matters. Don't think power is what people look for when they buy an IS250 anyways.

Well considering the 328i now powered by the N20, it went from 7.5s to 5.5s car (0-60)

The IS250 may undercut the 328i, but not the ATS so much. An ATS 2.0 luxury has a much longer list of standard features than a 250 "luxury". The price difference is not that significant, and it splits the difference nicely between the IS250 and IS350.

Yeah wait till the IS200t hits then it'll be a fairer comparo

Also Edmunds if they wanted to align his right they shouldn't have used the ATS 2.0T and 328i.

The ATS base engine 2.5L 4 puts out IS250 power with around 200hp AND BMW has the 320i which is slotted below the 328i making 180hp and 200lbft from a detuned 2.0T.

I'm also not entirely sure how confident I am in Edmunds ability to really put a car through its paces and make educated conclusions based on that. When you watch the video and listen to the "testers" talk...they don't exactly sound all that experienced.

I certainly would not put Edmunds on the same playing field as Car & Driver, Road & Track, Motortrend, etc.

Not just that but the 3-Series and ATS are lightest in class compared to the heavier G, C, IS, A4

Wrong. According to the Edmund's review, the IS has a better chassis, better steering response and is more responsive. It was only let down by its powerplant. The 3 series is a better muscle car not a better driver's car.
