Default New IS in Fall os 2005

From June's Automobile Magazine...
"As with the Lexus GS300, the IS300's in-line six-cylinder powerplant will be replaced by a similarly sized V-6. A larger-displacement engine (3.4 to 3.5 liters) also is expected in the new IS. Toyota has been considering V-8-powered versions of the current IS to bolster the car's image until the new model arrives."

Take it for what it's worth

personally i dont like the IS front. All cars have a futuristic look now and it's not too appealing to me!

Well, then the new IS is unbuyable for me...

why all the shifts to V6? I hated v configuration engine, doesn't seem to be smooth at all... Tried ES300 and the engine is just not as smooth...

i think a v8 IS isn't really feasible, from a marketing point anyways. AWD would be a much for viable thing to pursue

not to be a bubble buster but didnt they create the iS300 for the "younger crowd" and thats why its priced the way it is? so if they ever dropped an 8 in it for americas market it would be a special edition and priced very high. not for the young crowd at all. i guess thats why you see so many of them even with older people. manly for the price and the fact its a lexus not because of its look. i duno if we'll ever see a 430 here i wish and i wish for a manual as well b/c though i love my gs4 to death i would take an iS430 anyday over it if its a stick.. high price or not.

I totally disagree. The IS was "MADE" for the younger crowd. Lexus did this in order to bolster their image with younger buyers hoping that this would lead to furture buyers for their upscale models. I do agree that any IS430 made will be VERY expensive and not your every day Joe will be able to afford on, but that is just Lexus in general. I'll get one if it ever happens though
