Default Finally My 06' Runs Into A Major Problem... Navigation Unit!

So after 148k miles... I run into my first problem. Navigation (Digitizer) goes bad for the touch screen.

I looked at many forum posts and youtube videos, and attempted this feat myself.

Took everything apart like I was supposed to, carefully, and hooked it all up perfect.

Now the whole unit wont turn on! WTF! Idunno what happened here...

No lights on for the buttons, black navi screen, nothing works... EXCEPT the hazard button lights up, that is the only thing. Not even the clock.

So I checked all connections, good. Disconnected battery, good. Checked fuses, good.

I'm out of ideas here... help? haha what did I do wrong? Any other ideas?

PS: feels good to be back on the forum! Been over a year

So ya, I'm just going to try the ebay guy "lexusparts"
$195 total with shipping, and a 1 year warranty.

That guy in GA is no joke; I've spoken with him about my unit AND I've read of many others on the forum here using his services with great results!

The current issue with your NAV unit I experienced myself actually; the only fix was to replace the entire upper NAV screen portion. But the seller on ebay there has the technically experience to crack open the power supply and diagnosis where the fault is coming from and repair it.

Did you use him to fix your screen?

I was going to, but I ended up finding a good, used '08 NAV unit instead and installed it.

New problems now!

DRL's went completely off now... and I can't adjust my side mirrors.
I just replaced every fuse, and still no dice.

I'm out of ideas here... I think now I have to go to the dealer

Nooooooooooooooooo

Some might say having just the DRLs turn off is a PLUS! LOL But first thing first, have you tried disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes to reset everything?

Took the Navi apart 3 times to triple check all the connections were good.
Disconnected the battery for a whole night.
Replaced all fuses.

I figured the side mirrors might somehow be connected to the Navi somewhere electrically, but the DRL thing should be something completely different.

And I like my DRL's... got some nice 8k's in there

Sounds like an electrical issue an Audi would have...not a Lexus. Wish you luck!
