06 Lexus IS250 Awd shuts off while driving and doesn't start?
Hello Everyone,
Today while driving on the I-95 my 06 Lexus IS250 AWD turned off. Lost all control, luckily I was able to park the car on the shoulders. Just before the car turned off while driving, the battery light came on. Once parked, in less then 10 sec I lost all power (car completely dead). Got the car towed. I tried to jump start the car but nothing happened no sound at all, however the tow guy said that my car battery (interstate Mega-Tron Plus) voltage is 9.2v less than what it supposed to be. But I am confused that why didn't my car start when I tried to jump it (the interior and exterior light did came on) ? no sound at all no crank or anything from the starter...does this mean that something else is wrong besides the battery
Thanks for reading my post and your replies!
Sincerely,
ysIS250

Sound like your alternator went. When your driving, your alternator provides most of the power to car, as well as charges the battery. I had a car die on me while driving, and it was the alternator, also explains why the battery had a low charge. You may or may not need a new battery.
