Lifting a 2is... Jack issues?
I will likely install my own coilovers and camber components when I lower my 09 is250 awd in the coming months...
I keep hearing all over the forum about issues on jack stand positioning (bending of metal near the pinch welds etc.)
-unless i misunderstood what i read:
Does anyone have any experience with this?
Do i need to purchase jack pads?
I was planning on lifting up the car with the typical jack in the trunk, and a pair of 3 ton jack stands. But should I be aware of any issues on jack points?

Save your money and don't waste it on the pads. Just jack up the car high enough and put the support stands on the frame rail. My craftsman 3 ton fits perfectly in the rail. Don't try to jack or put support stands on the rail. It bends. Worked on another is250 and the guy put it on the rails.....it bent,

yeah, the pinch welds are a pain. I put my jack on the inside of the pinch weld (i.e. closer to the center of the car) as close to the wheel well as I can get, then once in the air put my jack stands under, again, on the inside of the pinch weld. This has felt really solid to me. I gave up trying to find something to go over the pinch weld.

getting under there seems difficult no? Theyre right in the middle of the car. When I think of people jacking up a car to change a wheel, isnt it usually towards one end? (similarly, once jacked up on one side, place a jack stand, lower onto jack stand, repeat on other side?)

if your just jacking the car up to change a wheel I would jack it at the pinch weld and support it by the frame rail.
