07 IS250 error code B2271 and B2289
Hey Team,
My car does not start. When I step on the brake pedal the ignition button goes green but does not start and switch does not open. There are no light on the dashboard only one saying that my moonroof is open.
The battery is new with enough charge to start and my mechanic is only able to start the car by using a bypass with the two fuse boxes on the motor. It was connected to a scanner and the following codes where displayed B2271 and B2289.
Am the car owner, not the mechanic but would like to have an idea of what part is not working and how much this part my cost to get my ride back on the road. I know there was a weird connection from the cigarette lighter in the console which was connected to the fuse box at the driver side. I have always used this as my cell phone charger but that day I helped a friend to light a cigarette and the car never started since then. In ththat connection there is a 10 amp fuse which is not blown. Also, all fuses where checked and none are blown.
Can someone give me an idea of what's going on?
Thanks

B2271 Ignition Monitor Hold Malfunction guide
Both B2287&B2289 Code
Hope this helps youu a bit. Looks like a fuse or power source either between the FOB battery or ignition start module power went bad
It says Prius but I doubt the starting systems are THAT different

NYKnick101 and Team,
Thank you for the assistance. Am so close to find the fix to the issue. After following the steps (change am2 and ig2 I see light on my dashboard and ignition switch is green). However, my car does not start yet.
My mechanic noticed that the fuse box beside the battery does have current an all fuses are working. The other fuse box in the motor as you may see on the pictures, does have current but 4 fuses circled does not get current but ALL other fuses do get current.
Can you guys help me figure out what may cause these 4 fuses not get current, taking in consideration that all others in the box do? These are not burned out.

If all 4 Fuses are not working, chances are its a loop back from another device. Test the current on those while the green light on the starter button is on and make sure that current does not run when ignition is not on. You may also want to follow the wire harness, or get a wire diagram to find out where those fuses lead to and check the power sources.
I know the IG an EFI fuse loops back to the IG and EFI Relays as you can see lower down. The big square ones. Check your Relays for proper operation
