Is 3M tape waterproof?
So I bought 3m tape to hold the diffuser inplace along with the bolts. My question is if the 3M tape is waterproof. Cause the corners of the diffuser is like slowly falling off also 1 piece on the top is peeling. Will the diffuser fall Im scared to wash the car

Like with any kind of adhesive tape, preparation is key. If you get oils from your fingers on it, it won't adhere properly in the spot where you touched it. Also if you have road dirt/oil/car wax/surface protectant etc in the location you are trying to get the tape to stick, it won't bond correctly. What I've done in the past on all my vehicles before applying the tape, thoroughly clean BOTH sides where the tape will stick. Rubbing alcohol works well for this and is fairly cheap (less than a buck a bottle @ Wal Mart or your local drugstore) and some clean paper towels or cotton *****. Rub the area where the tape will stick down well, let it dry (will evaporate pretty fast) then do it again and wait for it to dry. Apply your tape. Also if you read the instruction for your 3M tape it likely says that it will fully cure/bond in a certain amount of time (I think 24 hours?) so don't let it hang/hold the weight fully until then. In your case I'd use some of that blue painters tape to add support to hold the diffuser up giving the adhesive time to cure/hold properly.
