I don't post much on this forum as my forum days are mostly over, but this is just worth mentioning. I know that the ISX50 is plagued with the electric power steering and a few members here have had to deal with it. Well, this is just another story to add to it. I purchased a 2007 IS350 about a month ago through Carmax and the power steering gave up about 2 weeks ago. The P/S light came on and it's been intermittent manual steering which is triggered by low speed steering. Since Carmax has a 30 day complete coverage warranty and I brought it in before the deadline, they brought it to Lexus and paid to have the electric power steering assembly replaced. I just got the car back 2 days ago and the p/s is out again. What do you think this is? It's obviously not the power steering assembly, unless Lexus lied and didn't replace it. Or maybe the ECU that controls the p/s is defective?
I've heard that 3 attempted times to fix the same problem would put the lemon law into effect. Is this true. I'm in AZ. Any one with experience in this, please help a brother out. I had big plans for this car, and now I'm contemplating whether or not to keep it. And to think I got rid of my 2006 IS350 to hopefully trade up to the 2007. Ugh.

I'm taking it back this weekend. And yes, they do provide a loaner just like they did last time. I bet they're trying to get this resolved quickly as well since everything is coming out of their pocket. Now if the fix is expensive, say over 10k, can they as a dealer just say pick out a new car?
Well, I dropped the car off at the Carmax dealer and they brought it to Lexus already. I did let them know that I suspect it's the p/s ecu and they said they'd look into it. Carmax is going to crack some heads since they're not happy that they paid over 2 grand to still have it malfunctioning, so they're cracking the whip now at Lexus.
