Looking for opinions on Bluetooth adapter (USA Spec VS GROM)
Hi,
I have a 2008 IS250 without NAV and I want to add Bluetooth connectivity to stream music from my Android device. I am currently looking at the USA Spec BT35-TOY and the GROM-BT3. I would like an adapter that auto connects and allows me to skip music via the steering wheel controls. I am also looking for something that has a clean install. So far, I believe the USA Spec is the only module that can do everything I am looking for but I am not 100% sure that it will let me control via the steering wheel. Does anyone have any experience with either unit or can you suggest another unit? Thanks!

Ok, do your car has the auxiliary 3.5mm input inside the arm rest? if so, I have a cheaper solution:
The thing about this one in particular is that if you keep it charging with the USB cable, every time you turn your car, the adapter will turn on and automatically search for the last connection it made before. So you don't have to pair it to your phone every time you get in the car.
EDIT: The downside is that it wont allow you to control it from the steering wheel.

I was planning on hiding it inside the center console and hard wiring it to the 12v supply inside the armrest compartment and splicing into the aux in jack so that it would never be seen. The downside is the lack of hands free calling and steering wheel controls.

Biggest differentiator of this one over the other two is that it supports the aptX codec for higher quality audio on phones that support it (e.g., most recent Samsung, HTC, Motorola, etc).
It also has a hands-free calling feature, but I've never tried it since my car already has that feature.
