pop open when I hit the trunk button on my fob. has anybody solved this problem? like install a spring or something?

I would like for my lid to go way up when I hit the fob (like my wife's mazda 3), its so much better when I have my hands full of stuff.

I know its a lexus and stuff, but maybe something can be jury rigged.

any ideas?

If you have to ask, then you're better off asking a shop to install an actuator to open the trunk. Can be done in place of the factory trunk struts located under trunk covers where the arms recede into.

You can install a bungee cord in the trunk that will act as a spring and have it automatically pop open. There's a DIY for the Camry on Toyota nation that should work for the IS too.

Remove both trunk struts and buy a spring.attach one end to the hole on the trunk arm other inside the trunk

the camry trick won't work in IS, it has two lifter(s) shocks in place for the trunk.
