he broke that 7/8 pin clip for the USB. IDK why you need that for it to function if you dont use the USB option.

Check and see if the unit as an open/push contact switch. Some newer computers have a contact switch on the casing that pushes a button that needs to be depressed/closed to start the PC. Its a saftey switch to avoid static charges to computer electrical components. See if the unit has that, it may not start while its open

These units don't have case switch (at least mine doesn't). Was the power harness still plugged when you took the top off?

did you try puling the black clip out then pushing the connecter in then push the clip back in to lock it?

+1 there is a locking clip that has to be pulled out before the ribbon cable can easily slide in or out.

Although, it looks like it is in enough to make contact. But still worth a shot.

Are you trying to power it up in the car or on a test bench? If in car did you check fuses?

Under steering wheel to the left, just pull the small door (or something similar).
The other fuses require you to raise your hood, you can find it directly in front of the drivers side inside a small box with a lid. My memory is a lil foggy but I hope this helps.

Idk if thats gonna help because when I put my old one in, it works perfectly
