Sub/amp install ?

Sub/amp install ?
i just bought a 12 inch powered sub and want to install myself because i do not trust anyone with my car. Any DIY posts or suggestions from people who have installed these in their car would help. Do i have to remove anything major like my NAV unit? Any input would help me out.

there are a couple threads here that go into pretty good detail, basically you just need to run power to the back, get a hi/lo converter and tap into the factory amp wiring which is in the trunk on the passenger side, i would probably remove the factory sub in the rear deck.

I had time to drop off at my local stereo shop. They did work on my last vehicle and I was impressed. I was going to try it myself because I enjoy doing the work on my car. I only had to pay $40 for the install and very happy with the bass I have now. I will have to tweak the settings a bit for my taste though. If anyone is wanting to add some good bass this is what I got. Bought it from amazon for $188.00 shipped. Rockford Fosgate punch P300-12 with 8 gauge wire. I'll post pics tomorrow when I clean up the car.

Don't buy square boxes bro. There is a guy who make custom box for IS. They fit perfect and you will have good bass and more space in the trunk. I will upload pics tmw and also for RCA connections.
I bought Pioneer GM-D9601 2400 Watt Mono with PIONEER TS-W3002D4 Champion Series PRO 12" 3500W.
I don't need remote wire for this amp. RCA connection turns on and off the amp. setup is pretty easy.
I have same enclosure with 1 sub hole.
