Touch screen, and button around navi, not turning on. 07 IS250 Please help!
My touch screen and, buttons on the side are not working nor lighting up as they are suppose to. on my 2007 IS250. First the touch screen stopped being responsive. Now screen is completely off, only comes on when I set gear in reverse (back up camera), and shows volume when I turn up/down the volume, and when I skip a track on a CD.
This is my first post to the forum, please excuse my noobinese...

Interesting...so you're saying that the screen will still work when in reverse (displays the rear camera) and the volume adjustments? So the screen isn't totally non-functional.
Very odd; I've not heard of this before. I had the issue where the screen was 100% non-responsive and 100% did not display anything. Basically it boiled down to a faulty connection inside of the display module; it was not the screen itself. For details on my problem, visit here : https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...n-related.html
To fix it you've got two opinions :
1) Send the unit off to be repaired by an electronics expert (a few are on eBay)
2) Replace the entire faulty unit with a known good one.
I spent $400 on a good '08 model yr unit to replace the faulty '06 one I had; but these things usually go for around $1k.
This might help you with the removal of the unit itself down the road : https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...n-fix-diy.html
GL!

Thank you much Gville350 for the quick reply!
Yes the screen will come on when in reverse (back up camera) but once I start to drive the screen goes black. If I turn up/down the volume the scree will come on but just the banner that shows the volume/track etc.
Touch is 100% gone... and all the buttons that control the A/C unit heater. They are off/non responsive as well. like if a fuse had gone bad, but I checked all the fuses, they all seem to be ok.
I already tried removing the console/unit and tried repairing the the screen with circuit writer pen, but that didn't work at all. Just cased the A/C, heater and the rest of the buttons around the navi to turn off.
Thanks again Gville350 for the quick response.

Well, basically it's down to the couple of options I had earlier mentioned then. You can take the chance (like I did) and hope a new, replacement screen helps; but I personally believe you'll end up disappointed that the screen will have done nothing at all.
Here is an eBay listing for the repair service to fix your issue; I actually spoke (via text) to the seller and he is a straight-shooter. I had asked since I lived roughly 2hrs away if I could deliver it in-person; he had nothing against it. Another member actually had his unit fixed by him with + results.

I'm really hoping it's just the screen. Thanks, I'll take it in consideration. I did find this Russian guy locally, that repairs the navi/ecu etc. The only down side is that he says he repairs it for $700 for the screen replacement. With a new one, and $1200 for both the screen, and the ecu unit. Hopefully it's not that much.
I'll be checking up with him before sending it of out of state.
Thanks for all the help!

its not the screen. he said it turns on in reverse gear. I think some fuse issue or something.
Did you try to remove the negative wire for few mins. that might reset the nab unit and solve the problem.

I'm having a similar issue that started this morning...black screen, buttons on side don't work and climate control can't be adjusted/turned on/turned off, Back up camera still works
My nav will go on and off while I'm driving though
Anyone figure this thing out or know where I can pick up where they left off?

Over time, the heat generated internally in the unit will cause the electronics to break down and loose connection. Unless you know someone that works on such things, it might be best to consider the ebay link posted earlier.
