Check those threads I am pretty sure there was someone here who mentioned that the 2011+ models had something modified to their parts that prevents this issue. Yes its the same engine but changes are made to it. Read more about it and do more searching even google.

Sadly there are not that many tech pros in this forum to give you an exact answer so if you are still not sure I would take it to your dealer and ask them. I wish questions like this get answered right away but thats one flaw buying a lexus over a bmw or a honda that have techs all over the place in the forums.

There were a few changes made to the piston rings over the years. Only models with the original rings (13011-31120) qualify for the TSB/extended warranty coverage.

13011-31120 - Ring Set (08/05 - 09/09 production, superseded by 13011-31121 -> 31122 -> 31220)
13011-31121 - Ring Set (09/09 - 11/11 production, superseded by 13011-31122 -> 31220)
13011-31240 - Ring Set (11/11 - 06/12 production, superseded by 13011-31241 -> 31260)
13011-31241 - Ring Set (06/12 - 09/12 production, superseded by 13011-31260)
13011-31260 - Ring Set (09/12 - current production)

So the 2 current part numbers are 13011-31220 (newest version for 05/08-11/11 production, was never used at the factory in any engines) and 13011-31260 (newest version for 11/11 - current production, used at the factory in engines produced after 09/12).
