hey just did that , lastest one says this " REPLACE CAMSHAFT TIMING GEAR ON IS " would that be the recall? because when i click on recalls on the site with my vin it says this " Your vehicle does not require any outstanding safety recalls or service campaigns at this time. This inquiry covers all recalls or campaigns currently not completed for your specific vehicle identification number (VIN)." ???

HELP! Dealer trying to kill me!
07 GS 350 - 105,000 miles. I had the Camshaft Timing Gear Assembly recall work done by the dealership. Car runs fine, but the next day it developed an oil leak. After removing the engine cowl, it looks like it is coming from the forward (passenger side) cam sensor (small pool of oil directly below it). Took back to the dealer expecting them to say sorry and just handle it. They are claiming it is coming from the valve cover gasket and want to charge me to replace it.
Does anyone know -
1) Was the valve cover removed or loosened under normal protocol during this recall service?
2) Was the Cam Sensor removed or loosened under normal protocol during this recall service?
3) Is it "normal" for valve cover gaskets to just start leaking? (105,000 miles).
Any other thoughts or anyone have similar experience? I saw on an earlier thread that I should expect $350-$500 to change the gasket (that's just one side? - Seems high for one side).
Thanks everyone!

Something sounds wrong here... Not only are the valve covers removed, but the gaskets are replaced with new ones as part of the recall service... Here is a link to the parts list provided by a lexus technician:

Need help please!!!!!!!!! Do i have a claim or not
Ok here's the deal..................I have a 2006 IS350 and about 2 years ago while driving to work my engine shut down and locked up. I had it towed to the dealer and they told me that my CAM GEAR came loose and took a **** and that caused some kind of domino effect destroyed a bunch of stuff in my engine. My warranty had already expired so I had to pay for repairs out of pocket and it was about $5000 when it was all done. Ok here is my question........................Do you guys think my car broke due to the problem with the recall of the VVT system assembly RECALL issue and if so, can I somehow make some kind of claim to get my money back. ALL AND ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
