Default AFS height adjustment issue - air suspension

So here is my issue...I think the AFS system gets really confused if the car is started when aired down. Even though I have the "ride height on ignition" feature from Accuair, the car is thinking the rear of the vehicle is loaded all the way down, and adjusts the headlights all weird.

But here is where it gets really crazy...it is only the passenger side, and it points it up into the trees, lolz. I first noticed this a couple weeks after installing my air suspension, double checked the AFS height sensor, made sure it was fine, and just manually adjusted the height of the headlights down. And at that time it was the passenger side that was high as heck.

Well, now it has been a couple more weeks, and the passenger side it all crazy high again. Is there something I am missing? Do others on air have this same issue? Does anyone riding really low on coils have this issue? I like having the AFS, but since I am on air do I need to turn it off? WTF...

Thanks in advance...

That's an issue with the headlight auto leveling, AFS is the lateral turning of the headlights (i dont think they work together at least ) , but I havent had that issue...I take it your headlights are on Auto, does it screw up if you have the headlights off when you start the car, then switch them on when the car raises up to drive height?

I never really have them on auto to extend the life of the HID bulbs...and I don't think that it matters, I just notice the height difference at night (of course)...but I can see now the DRLs are way off too, with the passenger side way too high.

I am pretty sure they are linked, because when I air down all the way in the back and keep the car on, the AFS light will blink...but when I raise it back up, it stops

Guess I need to dig into TIS today...arggggg

If its similar to the first gen IS then you would have to notch the portion that the level glides on and move it and adjust it accordingly. I did this with my car when it was on coils and it would go bonkers aiming the lights up and down very abruptly, i became frustrated with the damn system when i put the air in as it was even worse, so i just aimed them properly against my garage and pulled the plugs on them. If you don't mind the light on, on the dash then its best solution. Hope this helps...

The front or the rear? And why just one side? I think that is what is bugging me the most...has anyone else had the issue of just one side adjusting up?

On the first gen IS the headlight sensor sits on the driver rear side, I am unsure about the second gen I will have to take a look at my friends car to verify. You can use it as a temp solution just line them up till they are level and pull the plugs so the leveling motor doesn't burn out prematurely.

There is a height sensor on the driver front and the driver rear...I did not double check the front one, so I will be doing that today. If I have to shorten the arms on them, so be it...but I just can't figure out why only the passenger side points so high up...

just to provide an update if anyone cares, lol...I manually adjusted the passenger side headlight to be level with the driver side. I have not changed anything else, did not change how I use the switch (auto, off, on, etc), I did not change any of the height sensors, and I did not change the height of the car when I park...

So far so good...will report if anything changes. Still curious if anyone else has had this issue with only one headlight adjusting itself up higher than the other...
