Just check the firmware and see if it's updated buying used v1 is fine

I was in the same position a couple weeks ago and opted to buy a new one. Mostly like the used models will require an update that can cost up to $200. So the savings from buying a used model will be very little, if there is any at all. The best way to tell is to obtain the serial number for the buyer to check if the unit is up to date and if it was stolen.

Nothing wrong with buying used. Of course this depends on condition and if the software needs to be updated.

hopefully it is up to date on firmware and the item is legit and not stolen. Good luck.

I have a 3yr old Valentine One that still works like a charm. I've never had the firmware upgraded. They wanted about $150 to do that. Might as well get a new one and sell the old if that was the cast. Anyway, my point was, it still works great.

Another point, my brother has a 6-mos old V1, and I can't really tell much of a difference in performance.

Buy it used, send it to get re-calibrated at the very least. They should only charge you $50, if they charge you at all (sometimes they don't).
