I'm going to be installing a 2012 front bumper on my 2006 IS250. From what I can see so far, apparently the headlamp mounting brackets need to be changed. I have also got the LED headlamps which I believe the brackets can be cut and modified to fit. But if i'm going to be changing the bumper, will i need to actually get the new brackets or will the cut-out modified bracket work?

Either one is fine. Just depends on if you're willing to spend money on a new one or if you're ok with hacking up your bracket. My friend JasonChang and I hacked up his brackets to fit his 2011+ headlights. He also installed the 2011+ bumper prior.

back in the days LOL!! yea if you r installing the 2012 bumper to 2006 you need to cut the piece that tuck into buttom of the headlights, if you r planning on 2012 LED headlamps too, than a custom bracket is needed!

I am installing the 2012 bumper on the 2006 IS250. So you are saying that the existing plastic mounting bracket that sits below the headlamp can be used just by cutting it? I am also going to be installing the 2012 LED headlamps, but to install these i've read that people cut it to fit around the LED connector. So will cutting and customizing the original headlamp mounting brackets work for both the 2012 bumper and the 2012 LED headlamp?

To fit 2012 bumper to 2006, yes you need to cut into square shape to the piece that sits below the headlamps, that's what the body shop did and it works good. And to fit the 2012 headlamp to 2006, yes you need to cut the original bracket to fit the 2012 headlamp, this work is only for the 2012 Headlamps not the 2012 bumper. And there're only going to be two screws holding the headlamps instead of 3 screws. Ohh if you r buying the stripped version you need to transfer the old ballast and bulbs into the new headlamp. Just in case if you dont know yet!! Good luck and have fun modding!
