Exclamation Stretched tire problem PLEASE I REALLY NEED THE HELP

I don't know if I posted in the right or wrong forum section but mods please let it be up at least until I get my answer!!!

Is there anyone running 225/40/18 on a 8.5J wheel on their ISx50? The thing is I found some 18" wheels but the rim width is 8.5J and not 8.0J like the stocks. I read that if I use 225 on a 8.5J wheel it will be a bit stretched, is there anyone that has that setup so I can preview of what it looks like before I buy the rims. Is there also anyone running 255/40/18 on a 9.5J wheel?

225/40-18 on a 18x8.5 is not a stretch.

225/40-18 on a 18x9.5 is.

This is something that is not a concern. You will be fine.

You will be fine regardless.

Keep in mind SOME tires run slightly wider/taller than others. Comparatively, I had Continental DW tires with a 225/35/19 front and 265/30/19 rear and swapped to the same size tires with Hankook Ventus V12's and the Hankooks run slightly wider which caused an extremely mild rub. But of course that has more to do with your suspension specs.

yeah exactly what he said. some tires run wider than others so sometimes its dependent on what brand you are going with.
