Default universal oil filter wrench

Hey guys,
So, I was wondering if any of you have any success with a "universal" sized oil wrench that you can refer me to?

I have to do the oil changes on 4 cars and rather just have one wrench, because I rather not keep track of them all, and more importantly because I'm cheap.

Honestly i've never had much luck/success with universal oil wrenches. I just take a pipe wrench and easily remove the fitler (destroying it in the process since its not going to be reused anyways). For the IS though there isn't as much space so i would recommend the OEM metal toyota wrench removal tool. You can easily find it on amazon.

why would the filter canister not be resused again? Seems like a huge waste to me. Correct me if I'm getting something wrong here.

I don't think he is talking about the IS, he means on other cars where you toss out the old filter.

Correct - for the IS the canister is preserved, which is why i bought the special TOYOTA tool to remove it.

For other cars where it isn't a filter insert but instead a disposbe canister filter intsead, i wrench it off
