Hi guys, I did some forum and thread searching but wasn't able to find my exact issue or a solution to it. I haven't been on this form for over a year so bare with me...

My issue is with my FRONT dome light...All three bulbs do not turn on when I open the door to get out of my car after parking it. For example, when I pull into a spot and turn off the engine (door is still closed), ONLY the middle light turns on and when I do open the door to get out, the other two outside dome lights (on the right and the left of the middle one) are SUPPOSED to turn on, but they don't. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

The bulbs are NOT burned out because when I hit the "On/Off" switch next to the dome light all the dome lights in the car turn on. Again, I want to figure out how to make it so ALL 3 bulbs in the front dome light turn on when I open the door to get out after parking it.

Any feedback suggestions or responses are appreciated.

I think its something else. All his other lights come on except the front dome.


Did you happen to remove the bulbs?? Maybe you reinstalled them in reverse polarity

OEM or aftermarket bulbs? If aftermarket, switch back to OEM and see if the symptoms still occur.

I tried hitting the door button and I get the same result with the button on and off...

I swapped out the bulbs from the OEM to aftermarket vled LED's back in 2011 and I have never taken them out or touched them since...

Try to swap overhead dome consoles with another local member and see if it persists, should only take 10-20 mins. Think to start the process of elimination...

Hey guys, thanks for the responses thus far...I just noticed something and wanted to see if anyone else's IS's had the same issue/function...

So, if ANY of the passenger doors are opened, ALL 3 dome light bulbs in the front dome light turn on. BUT whenever I open just the DRIVER'S door, only one bulb (the middle one) in the front dome light turns on, but the other two stay off. Is anyone else's door/front dome lights function like this???

How do I get it so all 3 front dome light bulbs turn on when I open the DRIVER'S door? Is this even possible or is it how the car is built?
