While on the subject of the ML sub. what specifically fails on these things for them to "blow"? Has anyone thought about replacing an ML sub with a non-ML sub?

Thanks, I would rather replace it if I could, just to save the down time but if not I will probably go your route. Did everything work fine without the subwoofer while it was out for repair?

Anyone know the wattage for 2010 LS? What about the wattage of the amp? Can it produce more wattage than the speakers?
The spider is the bumpy part that you see below the two wires in the picture above. The ML sub is designed slightly different from the picture below but you get the idea.
As to the fix, the power normally ran directly along the spider, that connection burned out, so they take the new wires and attach them to each end and make sure it has enough slack to move with the subwoofer.
