15,000 mile service costs $270.00?
Went into my local Service Center and was quoted $270.00 for a 15,000 mile service. This def seemed a little ridiculous. Listed below is what the 15,000 mile service consists of.
-Replace Engine Oil
-Replace Engine Oil Filter
-Reset Service Indicator
-Road Test
-Clean Cabin Air Filter
-Inspect Body Paint and Corrosion
-Inspect Brake Lines, Hoses, and Connections
-Inspect Drive Axle Boots
-Inspect Exhaust System and Heat Shields
-Inspect Rear Differential Fluid Level
-Inspect Suspension Ball Joints
-Inspect Steering Operation and Linkage
-Inspect Engine Coolant Level
-Inspect Rack and Pinion Assembly
-Inspect Installation of Driver's Floor Mat
-Install Battery Terminal Protectors
-Fuel Injection Additive
-Add Windshield Washer Fluid
-Replace Front Wiper Refills
-Inspect Brake Pads and/or Linings, Rotors and/or Drums
-Perform Battery Test and Report
-Inspect All Lights and Report
-Inspect Drivers Side Floor Mat for Proper Installation
Just wanted to see what others paid or recommend on doing.

Sorry to hear that you paid for the "Lexus Dealer" premium and got butt raped as usual.
-Fuel Injection Additive (this is a total waste).
Ours are setup differently because we use direct injection. If you're on IS250, this won't do a thing to prevent carbon build-up since the additive never touches the part with the issue.
If you're on IS350, you won't carbon build-up issue because your car uses direct PORT injection.
If you want to avoid the inflated premium prices, just look at the service manual and pick out what you REALLY need. Skip the inspection and top off fluid crap.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I greatly appreciate it. I was just seeing what everyone's thoughts were on the topic. I didn't actually pay the price, I just received a quote from the Service Center.

Get the oil change done only if you aren''t able to do it at home. Changing the cabin filter is super easy, there is guide here on CL on how to do it (I believe its in the owners manual as well). Just remember to put the air into recirculate mode before doing anything with the cabin filter!
