Anyone know the cause of the squeeking from my engine?

Could be an idler bearing, water pump, and slipping serpentine belt.
I would grab a bolt of wd40 with the nozzle tube straw squirt a little on the idler bearing first, but try not to get any on the serpentine belt. If the noise doesnt go away squirt some on the belt, and the noise is still there then it could be a water pump.

Yeah I agree with the water pump thing. If the dealer recommends to change the water pump do not procrastinate on that at all. I almost payed the price the hard way for doing that.

I know old post , I have the same issue and I think it is definitely the belt. If I spray some water on belt it disappears for about 5 seconds. I'm going to replace belt and report back. I thought it could be alternator but highly unlikely since my car only has 27,000 miles. Hope it is the belt

I have 97,000 miles in my IS250. The car is making the same squeaking noise. It is completely stock with no replacement parts other than pistons recall. I have been keeping an eye in the water pump since they fail quite common but I can't see any evidence of coolant leaking. I think the noise found be a pulley bearing. We will see.
