Post Please help with this noise (Video)

Hey Guys,

Over the past few months I've noticed a loud creaking sound come from the car when the steering wheel is turned to either side. I've attached a video to help diagnose this better, please help as best s you guys can. Thanks

The noise can only be heard when the car is stopped or at low speeds, it might happen when turning at faster speeds but too loud to listen.

That sucks big time.

If it takes a lot of effort for you to move the steering wheel then take it to your local dealer and mention the EPS Steering Gear Replacement Campaign.
Hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.

Thanks, but I don;t think thats it. It's not hard to turn the steering wheel it just makes that noise.

I'm having this identical problem! I replaced both my sway bar links thinking that was the problem, but sound is still there. Car is going in for recall work this week so hopefully lexus tells me what the actual problem is

Take it to a oil change place and tell them to inspect and lube the ball joints and tie rods, that if they have zerk fittings. But its probably a worn tie rod

I have already lubed the ball joints and tie rods. Would a worn tie rod be covered under CPO warrantee?

I think its your ball joints. Could be axle boot if our car have those.

Okay, so surprisingly after a month of me driving after I had replaced the front pads and rotors on my car, the noise has disappeared. I haven't noticed it at all! I think it had something to do with the worn rotor, but I'm not exactly sure? Any ideas?
